Nepal Sports Summit 2026 Announced, Aiming to Position Nepal as Global Sports Hub
Nepal is set to take a major step toward strengthening its sports ecosystem with the announcement of the Nepal Sports Summit 2026 (NSS 2026), scheduled for February 5, 2026, at Soaltee Hotel Private Limited, Kathmandu. The summit will be the country’s first structured national sports convergence platform, bringing together diplomats, international delegates, policymakers, corporate leaders, sports administrators, media professionals, and global stakeholders.
Organized by the Nepal Sports Summit Committee, the event aims to align sports with diplomacy, tourism, and economic development, while opening pathways for international collaboration and investment. The summit is expected to play a key role in positioning Nepal as an emerging global sports and sports tourism destination.
NSS 2026 will feature five high-level panel discussion sessions focusing on critical areas of Nepal’s sports ecosystem. These include sports diplomacy and global relations, development of sports infrastructure, the rise of emerging and niche sports, the role of media and broadcasting in sports growth and monetization, and the growing influence of digital sports content and influencers. The names of panelists will be announced gradually through official social media channels and press releases.
Speaking at the announcement, summit organizer Aamir Akhtar said that Nepal Sports Summit 2026 is more than just an event, describing it as a national movement to integrate sports with broader economic and diplomatic goals. He emphasized the summit’s vision to connect Nepal’s sports sector with global opportunities and foster international collaborations.
Co-organizer Bhaskar Rajkarnikar highlighted that the summit will create a structured dialogue among policymakers, investors, sports leaders, and global institutions. He noted that Nepal’s natural advantages, youthful population, and global goodwill provide strong potential, which the summit aims to convert into long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.
The summit will bring together diplomats and international missions, global investors, government officials, international delegates, and sports industry stakeholders. Organizers believe NSS 2026 will help attract foreign investment, strengthen Nepal’s sports economy, and establish the country as a credible player in the global sports arena.
Further details, including panelist announcements and program highlights, will be released through the official digital platforms of the Nepal Sports Summit.
